OPENING EXHIBITION AT THE NEW GALLERY: ZAI SHOKU KEN BI – ART & MONEY
Base Gallery cordially invites you all to the opening exhibition entitled “ZAI SHOKU KEN BI – ART & MONEY”. Having been relocated to the financial district of Kabutocho, this exhibition tries to reveal the love-hate relationship between art and money. Our life itself is a whole bunch of fictions. As long as the life has a fictional structure, art and money can be regarded as similar existences in it. So this exhibition is to rethink the distance and difference between the two. Quite a few artists have realised those and a number of artworks have been made. This exibition starts on 1st November 2004, which is the day of introduction of new Japanese Yen bank notes.
