Immerse yourself in the world of Hideaki Yamanobe – a captivating solo exhibition from March 21 to April 26, 2025.

Base Gallery is proud to announce the first solo exhibition in Japan by Hideaki Yamanobe.

Based in Cologne, Germany, Yamanobe has long been creating his art away from his home country, garnering increasing acclaim both in Japan and internationally. This exhibition marks a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his work for the first time in Japan.

Through his richly layered monochrome canvases, Yamanobe continues to evoke the essence of Japan’s remote, misty mountains and deep valleys. When engaging with his works, one is transported into a world of fog drifting through ancient forests, snow accumulating on jagged rocks, or the textured bark of age-old trees—each painting uniquely reflects nature’s profound and serene beauty.

All of the works on display will be shown for the first time in Japan, including some of the largest pieces ever exhibited at our gallery. We invite you to experience the awe-inspiring depth of his work and look forward to welcoming you to this exceptional exhibition.
